Banksia
To design a fabric that conveys the strong and graphic form of the Banksia plant, Julie began with charcoal sketches and a simple linocut. The meandering growth of the plant prompted Julie to work outside the standard screen dimensions, using not one, but two screens for the vertical repeat.
Thinking outside the rectangle resulted in a clear and bold botanical design.
